中国书法 – 中级班 CHINESE CALLIGRAPHY – PROGRESSIVE

完成初学者班后,学员将能在导师周和顺的指导下,练习更多行书与楷书并提升书法技巧。

After completing the workshops for beginners, participants can now take their calligraphy skills to another level through this workshop. They will learn and practice more regular and cursive styles with the guidance of Mr Chew Ho Son.

Sessions will be conducted mainly in Mandarin, PowerPoint in English and Chinese. Participants should complete the beginner courses or have basic calligraphy techniques.

周和顺 Chew Ho Son
前南洋理工大学财务处处长。(1981-2009年任职于南洋理工大学) 。获北京清华大学书法艺术高级研究课程证书 。2010年开始为南洋理工大学孔子学院中华文化怡养研修课程及国际学生交流课程书法兼职导师;人民协会合格书法导师 (PA Trainer) 。曾参加新加坡及中国、韩国、法国等区域及国际书法比赛。作品曾在各地展出或被收藏。

Mr Chew Ho Son graduated from the Nanyang University. He worked at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) from 1981 – 2009 and was the former Director of Finance at NTU. Mr Chew received his professional calligraphy training at Tsing Hua University in Beijing. He has been sharing his passion for the Chinese culture and calligraphy through teaching at various communities.

Dates : 6, 13, 20, 27 March 2018 (Tuesday) 4 sessions
Time : 1.30pm to 4pm

So what is happiness ? Is it a state of well-being that encompasses enjoying a good life—that is, with a sense of purpose and Sense of joy

Genetic makeup, environment , achievements, marital status, social relations can dictate happiness.

So do individual ways of thinking and expressing feeling. So you can decide is happiness made up of the concept of greater good or resident evil.

Researchers estimate that much of happiness is under personal control and individual decision.

ECO-CRAFT (Chinese New Year Ornaments)

It’s that time of the year again to be making Chinese New Year decorations, for home and office. Pineapples, Mandarin Oranges and Fishes are a symbol of good fortune, wealth and prosperity. These are well-like gifts to add that spark to the celebrations. Learn to make these auspicious ornaments during this 2-session workshop. Participants will learn to make big and small pineapples, mandarin oranges as well as some cute gold fish. Handmade ornaments never fail to capture the magic and energy of this fabulous season!

About Ms Janice Tay
Janice has always been passionate about crafts and has been pursuing it full-time since she retired. In recent years, she started to do craft weaving using only eco-friendly materials made from paper pulp and creates beautiful handbags, baskets and household items. She hopes to share her skills and interests with others who are equally passionate in learning crafts.

About Ms Catherine Loo

Catherine was born in Hong Kong and had lived in Canada for 30 years. Since coming to Singapore in Sept 2007, Catherine has been an active member and a volunteer for WINGS starting 2009. Her outgoing and sociable personality has gained her many new Singaporean friends. She enjoys teaching and has been sharing her skills with her peers on courses like Sudoku, Paper Craft, Chair Exercise and Fondant decoration.

Decoupage Art I (Jan Mon 10am)

DECOUPAGE ART
Decoupage is a fun and easy way to decorate any objects such as household items, bags, furniture, with paper cut-outs or beautiful European style napkins. It is a perfect way of beautifying plain, dull items or giving old ones a new breath of life!

During the sessions, you will be introduced to the techniques and materials of decoupage; and encourage to think out-of-the-box as you enjoy the fun and satisfaction in creating art projects with any everyday items. At the end of the class, you would be able to make your own masterpieces – which make perfect gifts for your loved ones and friends.

About Ms Pearl Tang
Pearl Tang has great passion in arts and crafts. Her interests include crochet, knitting, decoupage, polymer clay sculpture and jewellery-making. Pearl is also a trained facilitator and had obtained WDA – ACTA certification. She has more than 10 years of experience in the training/education industry and is currently doing part-time teaching in English and Business Studies.

About Ms Susan Goh and Ms Jennifer Lim

As a child, Susan has been passionate about origami. She conducts origami workshops at South Central Family Centre where she actively volunteers and shares her skills and knowledge in origami to the seniors and children. Jennifer is an arts and crafts enthusiast. She has attended art appreciation classes at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and keeps herself abreast of all kinds of crafts. Like Susan, she also volunteers at the South Central Family Centre and shares her passion with the seniors.
