Decoupage Art II – Crackle and other techniques

Programme Outline
Decoupage is a fun and easy way to decorate any objects such as household items, bags, furniture, with paper cutouts or beautiful European style napkins. It is a perfect way of beautifying plain, dull items or giving old ones a new breath of life!

In this workshop, you will learn to decoupage using different or a combination of techniques such as the Crackle and Lace effect on different mediums and surfaces to create beautiful master pieces.

Note: This class is only applicable to those who have attended the beginner course or who knows basic decoupage.

About Ms Pearl Tang
Pearl Tang has great passion in arts and crafts.  Her interests include crochet, knitting, decoupage, polymer clay sculpture and jewellery-making. Pearl is also a trained facilitator and had obtained WDA – ACTA certification. She has more than 10 years of experience in the training/education industry and is currently doing part-time teaching in English and Business Studies.

书法被认为是东亚的重要艺术和最优雅的写字形式。导师将介绍介绍有关汉字书写艺术、发展史、基本书写常识 (执笔与运笔方法、基本笔画、书写汉字规律)。学员将学习基本的技法。欣赏与练习书法字的简单结构。理论与实践,练习配合。

Calligraphy, the art of writing Chinese characters, is an highly regarded visual art form of Chinese culture. During the calligraphy workshop, you will be introduced to the Chinese calligraphy and its history. Participants will also learn the correct postures and skills of handling brush, the basic brush strokes and its fundamental rules, character structure/planning and more. At the end of the session, you will be able to appreciate the art of Chinese calligraphy and create your own meaningful artworks.

导师周和顺  Chew Ho Son
前南洋理工大学财务处处长。(1981-2009年任职于南洋理工大学) 。获北京清华大学书法艺术高级研究课程证书  。2010年开始为南洋理工大学孔子学院中华文化怡养研修课程及国际学生交流课程书法兼职导师;人民协会合格书法导师 (PA Trainer) 。曾参加新加坡及中国、韩国、法国等区域及国际书法比赛。作品曾在各地展出或被收藏。

Mr Chew Ho Son graduated from the Nanyang University. He worked at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) from 1981 – 2009 and was the former Director of Finance at NTU. Mr Chew received his professional calligraphy training at Tsing Hua University in Beijing. He has been sharing his passion for the Chinese culture and calligraphy through teaching at various communities.

Programme Outline
Salt dough is an inedible organic modelling material which can be easily made by mixing flour, salt, water and oil. Food colouring can be added to the dough to give it colour. Similar to the common clay, salt dough can be used to make interesting figurines. Come explore the adventure of Salt Dough Figurine with trainer, Ms Catherine Loo!

Topic consists of :
History and introduction of Salt Dough Figurines
Understanding the colour wheel and colour coordination
The receipe to making salt dough
Making birthday cake, national orchid flower, poodle dog and little chick

About Ms Catherine Loo
Catherine is born in Hong Kong and has live in Canada for 30 years. Since coming to Singapore in Sept 2007, Catherine has been an active member and a volunteer for WINGS starting 2009.  Her outgoing and sociable personality has gained her many new Singaporean friends. She enjoys teaching and has been sharing her skills with her peers on courses like Sudoku, Paper Craft, Chair Exercise and Fondant decoration.

Programme Outline
Interested to learn simple basket weaving? Join Ms Janice Tay in this 2-session eco-craft class and learn to make a simple yet elegant ribbon basket. You will also be introduced to basics of eco-craft that uses materials made of paper pulp – 100% recycled from milk cartons and grain husk.

At the end of the course, you will have your masterpiece and newly formed friends to enjoy this eco-friendly journey with!

Janice has always been passionate about crafts and has been pursuing it full-time since she retired. In recent years, she started to do craft weaving using only eco-friendly materials made from paper pulp and creates beautiful handbags, baskets and household items. Programme Overview

Learn the master-techniques that Peter Draw uses to “see” and to “Draw” portraits, including the secret technique he uses to draw the world’s largest caricature of Jackie Chan.

You will learn to “see” faces the Peter Draw way and turn what you see onto the drawing – learning how to draw eyes, nose, mouth, face, ears, hair, neck, body, hands in the simplest possible way, proven by hundreds of Little Draws. All participants can learn to draw one another, spending quality with each other through art.

Draw Good:

Master the skills of drawing under mentorship of Guinness World Record Artist & Philanthropist, Peter Draw.

Do Good:

Little Draws will then draw free portraits for each other to pay it forward with their drawings.

About Peter Draw
Peter Draw is a Singaporean philanthropy artist whose art have touched the lives of people across Asia. His art is about making Cute, big.

Peter fell in love with drawing at the age of 3. At 6, he was kicked out of art class because he couldn’t afford the fee. At 16, he lost his late-grandfather who taught him one last lesson – our loved ones cannot wait forever for us. Hesitate and we will lose our chance to show our love forever. Since then, he has devoted the whole of his entire adult life drawing to protect children who cannot protect themselves.
