CHINESE CALLIGRAPHY – PROGRESSIVE

完成初学者班后,学员将能在导师周和顺的指导下,练习更多行书与楷书并提升书法技巧。

After completing the workshops for beginners, participants can now take their calligraphy skills to another level through this workshop. They will learn and practice more regular and cursive styles with the guidance of Mr Chew Ho Son.

Sessions will be conducted mainly in Mandarin, PowerPoint in English and Chinese. Participants should complete the beginner courses or have basic calligraphy techniques.

周和顺 Chew Ho Son
前南洋理工大学财务处处长。(1981-2009年任职于南洋理工大学) 。获北京清华大学书法艺术高级研究课程证书 。2010年开始为南洋理工大学孔子学院中华文化怡养研修课程及国际学生交流课程书法兼职导师;人民协会合格书法导师 (PA Trainer) 。曾参加新加坡及中国、韩国、法国等区域及国际书法比赛。作品曾在各地展出或被收藏。

Mr Chew Ho Son graduated from the Nanyang University. He worked at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) from 1981 – 2009 and was the former Director of Finance at NTU. Mr Chew received his professional calligraphy training at Tsing Hua University in Beijing. He has been sharing his passion for the Chinese culture and calligraphy through teaching at various communities.

April Sharing Session 1 ~ Reminisce Your Life Story through Guided Autobiography 2pm

April Sharing Session 1

Guided Autobiography (GAB) is a powerful, holistic and informal process through reflective learning of our own experiences. Some benefits of GAB are:

  • Preserve life stories for family and friends;
  • New insights into one’s life;
  • More acceptance of the differences among people;
  • Formation of strong friendship; and
  • Achieve developmental learning through sharing.

During the session, participants will be exploring GAB themes in groups and also have the opportunity to share and reminisce their own life stories with others.

About Thomas & Rafiz

Thomas Kuan is passionate about writing autobiographies and believes that seniors can share their experience and wisdom through their life stories. As a certified GAB Facilitator, he has been conducting Guided Autobiography (GAB) since 2010.
Rafiz M Hapipi is a certified Guided Autobiography Instructor, and holds a Master in Training and Development (with Distinction). He has many passions which include scuba diving, doing social voluntary work, repairs and builds guitars.

Miniature Clay Art I (December Wednesday Mornings 10am)

Miniature Clay Art

Create beautiful miniatures of christmas tree with poinsettias, roses, Japanese desserts and koi fish. Make them into interesting magnet pieces or as beautiful display set of miniatures on its own. About May Mey
May Mey is currently an Instructor with the Down Syndrome Association conducting classes for their Visual Arts Program. Besides teaching them painting, May Mey has also conducted various craft workshops on Decoupage, Clay Art and Plaster-cast Sculpture for their members. May Mey also has various experience in conducting workshops at major events, outreach road shows and both social and corporate events for organizations such as the Down Syndrome Association, Singapore Heart Foundation and Manulife Singapore. In addition, she is currently teaching art and craft for children aged 4 years to 8 years at Crestar.

Prior to his retirement, he was a Facilities Manager for the Data Centres of several multinational companies handling electrical, cooling, fire and security systems and networks, etc. Now, retired at age 69, Alan actively volunteers in community services and provides free tuition to students from single parent family.

Salt dough is an inedible organic modelling material which can be easily made by mixing flour, salt, water and oil. Food colouring can be added to the dough to give it colour. Catherine is born in Hong Kong and has live in Canada for 30 years.
